The former member of the girl group Girls Aloud has revealed the arrival of her first child in an emotional social media post, sharing the good news with her fans. The 40-year-old singer has admitted that she and her fiance, Mitch Hahn, have recently become grandparents to a healthy baby girl.
Roberts confirmed the birth on Sunday with a heartbreaking piece of content and some incredibly intimate photos of the newborn. The singer shared the update in a heartfelt manner, stating that she and her fiancé have not ceased to gaze upon their daughter and that the feeling they get of being parents is “heaven on earth.” The baby was born at 38 weeks only a few weeks ago and weighed 6.5 lbs and is “healthy and thriving,” Roberts said.
The news of his being awarded this was met with a barrage of congratulatory messages from fans, other performers and celebrities. The pop star, who has been largely under the radar when it comes to her private life, received messages of goodwill on social media, many praising the happy occasion.
Roberts first made her relationship with Hahn public in a video on Christmas Day in 2025, announcing a secret pregnancy with the couple for their child. She said at the time, the couple had hidden the pregnancy from others and were thrilled to see their baby in the spring.
The couple has been seen together since 2022, and were engaged in 2024 following a romantic getaway to the South of France.
The path to motherhood wasn’t always easy for Roberts. Earlier this year, the singer revealed that she had gone under the knife while she was pregnant to help to “keep the baby in” and had pulled back from her work schedule while taking time to heal and recuperate. As she went on, she eventually said that as she drew near the end of her pregnancy, she felt relief after a stressful and emotional period.
Roberts is probably best known as one-fifth of the chart-topping pop band, Girls Aloud, but has a long association with music and television and a quieter voice than some of her bandmates. Hearing of her little one has made her fans over the years very happy.
