Ghost of Tsushima Surprises Fans With Free Legends DLC and Stream Deck Support

Ghost of Tsushima, the beloved samurai action game, has surprised fans with a brand-new free DLC update. This week, the game received patch 8 on Steam, bringing exciting news for both single-player and multiplayer fans.

The biggest highlight of this update is the split between the game’s single-player mode and the online multiplayer Legends mode. Legends, a popular co-op multiplayer experience, is now available as a free standalone DLC for anyone who owns Ghost of Tsushima: Director’s Cut. This means players can download and enjoy Legends separately at no extra cost.

Legends mode offers thrilling cooperative gameplay, featuring four distinct character classes: Samurai, Hunter, Ronin, and Assassin. Players face waves of supernatural enemies in a dark, mythological version of the game’s world. It is loved for its team-based strategy and intense combat action.

Alongside this free DLC, the update also brings full Stream Deck verification for the single-player campaign. This means players can now play Ghost of Tsushima smoothly on Valve’s portable Steam Deck console, with optimisations such as a dedicated graphics preset and user interface tweaks for better readability on the smaller screen.

The developers, Sucker Punch Productions, have worked diligently to enhance game stability and compatibility with these updates. Separating the multiplayer Legends mode from the main game also helps resolve regional issues with the PlayStation Network account requirement. Now, players can access the single-player match without needing a PSN account, making the game more accessible worldwide.

Patch 8 also includes minor bug fixes, performance improvements, and an updated AMD FidelityFX Super Resolution for enhanced visuals. The addition of Legends as free DLC shows the studio’s commitment to keeping the community engaged and growing.

Since its original release in July 2020 on PlayStation 4, Ghost of Tsushima has won praise for its stunning visuals and gripping story of Jin Sakai, a samurai fighting to defend Tsushima Island from Mongol invaders. The game later launched on PS5 with extra features and finally arrived on PC in May 2024 with the Director’s Cut edition.

This update arrives just as Ghost of Tsushima marks years of success and continues to be a fan favourite. The free Legends DLC and Stream Deck support bring fresh life to the game, making it easier and more exciting to play anywhere.

For fans who love samurai action and multiplayer co-op battles, this is fantastic news. The Legends mode remained a thrilling experience, and combined with the portability of Stream Deck, players have even more ways to enjoy the world of Ghost of Tsushima.

The free DLC is ready to download now on Steam for all Director’s Cut owners. Just activate it once, and the multiplayer adventure is yours to explore. With these exciting additions, Sucker Punch shows that the Ghost’s spirit is very much alive and kicking.

Game on, samurai. Your legend continues.
